Daren is a kind person, always willing to see the good in everyone. He's been through some tough times, and just when people believe that he's about to snap, he becomes calm, and tells the enemy that no matter what happens, he'll never turn to the dark. He rarely kills his enemies, but instead breaks their power and so forth. If he believes that something is wrong, he'll do his best to fix it, even if it means throwing his life away for it. Well liked by most people, he seems to be relaxed around everyone.

Geass
Geass is a mysterious ability which certain people can bestow upon others; C.C. is the most prominent character who grants the power of Geass. The Geass manifests differently in each individual, possibly related to their inner desires. The power of Geass increases with use, and should the user lack the willpower, they may be consumed by it, which was the case with Mao. C.C. calls Geass the Power of the King, and though she is unable to use the power herself, she is immune to the power being used on her. However, people who have Geass are not immune to the Geass effects of others. The Geass is represented by a glowing, bird-shaped symbol.
Every Geass, while powerful, has its own unique set of restrictions, limitations, or idiosyncrasies. These factors allow a Geass to be defeated, or its power limited, by someone who is aware of its characteristics. All Geass abilities that have thus far appeared within the canon of the television series have been related to the mind, influencing such things as will, thought, memory, and perception. Geass abilities in the manga sidestory Knightmare of Nunnally have no such limitations. All Geass, regardless of user, appear in only one eye while the user is able to control it's activation. Once the user loses that control, the Geass will eventually begin to grow until it shows on both eyes. Around this point, the person who gave the Geass will grant the user his or her 'Code', thus removing the Geass and making the user an Immortal and immunce to all Geass, and the person who gave them the Geass usually dies after granting a person his or her 'Code.'
According to an English edition of Newtype, the power of Geass has something to do with the very existence of humankind, and it may be used to destroy or transform just about anything."Geass" may be an intentional corruption of the word geas or geis, a term for a type of magical contract in Irish mythology.
Phantom's Geass allows him to alter one's memories, and also allows him to turn him and his Knightmare invisible. He developed it when he was a kid, and since then he's been using it for his own amusement.

Shinkirō Akatsuki
Shinkirō Akatsuki is an advanced form of the Akatsuki mecha, based off of the Shinkoro of Lelouch's leader. It's probably one of the most powerful in the world, and combined with Daren's special abilities, it can be deadly.
The Shinkirō possesses an Absolute Defense Territory (絶対守護領域, Zettai Shugo Ryōiki) system which uses an array of hexagonal energy shields that can be projected over any part of the Knightmare. Its Druid System, adapted from the Gawain, plots the trajectories of incoming projectiles and shifts the shields accordingly, giving the Shinkirō the highest defensive power of any Knightmare Frame. All these are controlled by the Druid system and the keyboard-based controls. The system requires incredibly complex calculations to form effective barriers, such that it takes an intellect on the level of Lelouch to use the system to its full potential. When Rolo attempts to use it, he is only able to erect a meager defense with a number of weak spots. At its full potential, the Absolute Defense Territory can block a sustained blast from the Mordred's Stark Hadron Cannon, albeit at the cost of much of its power reserves.
Its main weapon is a chest-mounted Diffusion Structure Phase Transition Cannon (拡散構造相転移砲, Kakusan Kōzō Shō Teni Hō). When activated, a prism-like object is fired from the Shinkirō's chest. The Shinkirō then fires a powerful beam into the prism, which refracts the blast into dozens of devastating pinpoint lasers. The beam can be fired without launching the prism for a concentrated attack. The shields must be deactivated for the weapon to be fired. The Shinkirō also has a pair of Hadron blasters mounted on the underside of its wrists which fire sphere-shaped blasts, rather than continuous beams.
